Gyms have reopened: 5 reasons to return
Gyms have reopened, and there are plenty of reasons to be excited about it. Even if you were a consistent athlete during this period, there are fundamental differences between working out in your living room — while trying not to break any furniture or step on your cat — and having space and tools to re-connect your mind and body through skillful, purposeful and playful movement.
GYMS HAVE REOPENED: TIME TO RETURN
1 – Step out of the sedentary slump
Your routines had quite a shake-up, but there’s never a wrong time to get back to exercising. Now, the work-gym-home relationship can live separately again. Also, if you are still working from home, belonging to a club means getting you out of your apartment. You’ll see different people, which will be great for your mood and energy levels, and it will help you avoid introversion.
2 – A healthier you
You don’t need us to tell you that regularly attending the gym improves your overall health — but it’s never been more important to keep your immune system, heart, lungs, muscles, metabolism, bones and skin in tip-top shape than now. Now that gyms have reopened, you have the chance to start or restart your path to a healthier you.
3 – The social side of it
Another reason why exercisers are excited to get back to the gym is its social feature — you just can’t beat the community. We, humans, are social beings. We’ve said before: you may have been the most focused athlete of them all during this time at home, but we need this social aspect to evolve. Seeing other people working out for us is already a refreshing feeling, and it fills us with a sense of competitiveness that you can’t match at home.
4 – Variety is the spice of gym-life
Many people have felt limited to the exercises they could perform over the pandemic, which is entirely natural. Unless you have a home gym, it’s hard to emulate at home the workouts you can have at your fitness club. But finally, equipment most exercisers have been unable to access is available again. At our EVO clubs we have several different training areas, such as cardio, performance, Kinesis and mobility. We even have a playground. EVO offers you plenty of room to make your training more challenging and fun.
5 – Boost your mood
From sharing experiences with others to the rush of positive endorphins, regular gym-going is good for the brain, decreasing stress, anxiety and depression. Mental health has taken a drastic hit during the pandemic. We’re hoping to contribute to an improvement, now that gyms have reopened.
Bottom line, we’re thrilled to be back to our happy place, with everything in place to make it safe. We can’t wait to see you soon!
