We are making it personal with our top trainers. Meet Lukas Hofmann from EVO Basel and uncover a special EVO workout designed for breakdance lovers.
What do you like best about personal training and what lead you towards sports?
When I was a kid, I used to play handball. After that I discovered strength training, Pilates and yoga. Then I got my degree in movement education and finished a course in a dance school. Last year I did the course at the SAFS (Swiss Academy of Fitness and Sports – Zürich) to become a personal trainer.
I think it’s exciting to support and guide members in achieving their goals. I really enjoy it when I can teach them something new and through the improvement of the body help them have a better life in general.
What is your favorite EVO area? Why?
My favorite area is, of course, the Playground. It allows you to truly live out your creativity and train in many new and different ways. I specially enjoy using the ball as a training tool. It offers you countless training possibilities, it is fun and, as I already mentioned before, I have always been a ball-fan. Additionally, I really enjoy foam rolling. It has helped me to treat my body in diverse situations.
What kind of workouts help you best achieve your own fitness goals?
I like most of things, but I get particularly excited about everything what has to do with movement. Currently I am really into breakdance and dance and, for mobility preservation/development, I do yoga.
